Introduction
YOUR CHECKLIST - WHEN YOU'RE IN LABOUR
When you are in labour or lets say your water bag
just broke
make sure you have this stuff ready in a bag
to grab and rush to the hospital.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED DURING LABOUR
v A watch with a seconds hand to time your contractions
v Some cream or oil - that you would like to be massaged with
v Some sweets to suck on to prevent drying of the mouth
v A bottle of water
v Warm socks - if your feet get cold
v A hairbrush or comb
v A few hand and face towels
v A camera or video camera to capture your wonderful moment
v A little snack for the poor daddy who might need it after all
the massaging he would have to do
v Last but not the least, your little good luck charm
WHAT YOU'LL NEED DURING YOUR STAY IN THE HOSPITAL
- v Nightgowns, night suits
or a robe, whatever you are comfortable in if you are not too
keen on wearing the hospital gown.
- v Toiletries, including
a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, powder, cream,
perfume and of course some make-up if you feel like
- v Sanitary napkins and adequate
undergarments including your feeding bras
- v Some entertainment is
always a good idea like a pack of playing cards, books or a little
game
- v Healthy snacks for those
sudden hunger pangs
- v A going home outfit for
you. You have to look as good as you feel.
- v Lastly, don't forget.
Now you have someone else to worry about too! So, remember your
baby's:
- o Diapers - at least six
- o A blanket
- o A baby carrier
- o A baby suit or romper
- o Baby cream
- o Baby powder
- o Baby soap
- o Baby brush
Always be a little more indulgent,
because you never know what this baby is going to demand!
